
Retired seaman, Garodu Auwobo has been living in Tuvalu for three years. Auwobo is photographed in his niece's home in Funafuti.

Vaelei Vaelei has been fishing since he was a young boy and goes fishing as often as he can using a traditional canoe with an outboard motor attached. Vaelei is a night watchman at the University of the South Pacific's Tuvalu campus in Funafuti.

Akelita P. searches for the leaves and flowers necessary to make fo, flowered headdresses, which her grandmother will make for the Po o Tefolaha or "Day of Tefolaha" celebrations. Po o Tefolaha commemorates when Christianity came to Nanumea, Tuvalu's northernmost island.

Melitagi Lifuka, 77 makes fo in the Nanumean traditional style in preparation for Po o Tefolaha celebrations beginning that evening.
