
Above and below: Tuvalu's Nation Council of Women has a cooperative that operates The Snack Bar and a store that sells crafts next to the airport. All Tuvaluan women are automatically part of the council. Those who sell crafts or food at either establishment keep 82% of the profit and 18% goes to the cooperative.



Above: Thursday is one of two plane days at Funafuti airport and many come to the snack bar to watch the passengers arriving and say goodbye to those leaving. There are two flights to Tuvalu and two flights out of Tuvalu each week.
